Your brother Bahram Ahmadi - executed 27th December 2012
He was severely tortured in prison. The authorities placed him in solitary confinement (commonly known as the 'execution waiting room') in Ghezel Hesar prison. He was not allowed any visitors. The authorities were so cruel that they deprived him from even being allowed a telephone call to his family. His elderly mother never had a chance to hear her son's voice one last time. He was hanged without an opportunity to say goodbye.
After they executed him, they did not return his body to his family. Six months passed without his mother knowing the whereabouts of her beloved child. She arrived at the prison, and out of desperation demanded to know where her son was. They informed her that he had been buried six months prior to her arrival. She collapsed and suffered a stroke.
Bahram's brother, Shahram Ahmadi, is currently awaiting execution, along with at least 26 other Sunni political prisoners, at Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, Iran. There are reports that the brothers may all be transferred to Ghezel Hesar prison, where Bahram Ahmadi was executed. At Ghezel Hesar prison there are reportedly up to 15 executions per week, with many undocumented.
In Iran, transferring a death row prisoner to solitary confinement is an indication of an imminent execution. The solitary cells are referred to as 'execution suites' or 'execution waiting rooms'.
Two brothers in Ghezel Hesar prison have been in solitary confinement since last Wednesday (25th September 2013), Hamed Ahmadi and Seddigh Mohammadi. Four other brothers, Kamal Molayee, Jahangir Dehghani, Jamshed Dehghani and Hadi Hosseini, are due to be transferred to solitary confinement. Their executions are said to be 'imminent'.
Yesterday, (29th September 2013) two brothers in Rajai Shahr prison were moved to solitary confinement; Kaveh Vaisi and Mokhtar Rahimi. There is no news about their condition.
All of our brothers were active in promoting Sunni Islam and calling people to follow the Sunnah. Being outspoken against the regime and defending Sunni beliefs is very dangerous in Iran. The brothers all face vague charges such as 'membership of a Salafi group' or 'Moharebeh (enmity against God/ the state)'
These are worrying times for our brothers. There are many reports that the brothers are due to be moved to different prisons in order to secretly carry out executions. It is of the utmost importance that we do not stop raising awareness about this injustice. Our silence makes it easy for the Iranian regime to get away with these crimes.
Please do not forget your brothers in your du'aa.
