These charges, which we are proud to say are from Islam*, are misused by the Iranian authorities and are unjustly applied to innocent Sunni Muslims who have not committed this crime.
We want to make it clear that we are not against the charges in general, and we fully submit to the laws of Allah and we affirm these charges. We are only against the way it has been applied unjustly to innocent Sunni prisoners in Iran.
Therefore, to avoid any misinterpretation or confusion, we want to make it clear we were mistaken in the way we worded some of our statements in the past, and we repent from this, including:
“they were convicted of the vaguely-worded charge of Moharabeh”
“they were convicted of the unclear charge of Moharabeh”
“they were convicted of the vaguely-worded charge of causing corruption on the earth”
“they were convicted of the unclear charge of causing corruption on the earth”
And any other statements that are incorrect or may be misinterpreted. We do not mean that the charges themselves are unclear or vaguely-worded, instead we mean that it is unclear how these charges apply to innocent Sunni prisoners.
We would like to thank those who pointed this mistake out to us.
*The one who commits Moharabeh is the one who wages war against Allah and His messenger. Allah says in the Qur’an (interpretation of the meaning):
“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,” [5:33]
