URGENT - Our Sunni brother is being psychologically tortured in Evin prison, Tehran
In a rushed telephone call, Shahram Ahmadi was able to contact his family. He told them he is under severe pressure.
Each day the authorities inform him that he will be executed the following day.
He has been removed from his cell many times and taken to the place of execution. Each time they make him believe he will be hanged, in order to mentally torture him. Then he is returned to his cell.
He is kept in solitary confinement for 24 hours a day. The only time he leaves his cell is when they take him to the place of execution.
He is kept hungry and without food. The guards give him only one meal in the morning.
His telephone call was very rushed and he was unable to say more.
There are five other brothers being held in solitary confinement in Evin prison. They have been unable to contact their families to tell them about their condition. It is highly likely they are suffering in a similar way.
The head of Tehran's judiciary has told the families of the men to expect a 'decision' about the execution of the brothers next week.

Our brothers were all active in promoting Sunni Islam. The only 'crime' they have committed is in speaking against the Iranian regime, and propagating Sunni Islam within their communities. They have all been tortured, and many were forced to sign 'confessions'.
Those who openly spread Sunni Islam in Iran face persecution and arrest. Numerous Sunni scholars and students of knowledge have been imprisoned and executed by the Iranian regime.
